This policy describes how Sparnus ("we", "us") handles personal data for the Item 2.04 service at https://item204.com. Item 2.04 sends credit-event alerts derived from public SEC filings to subscribers who have asked for them.

Who we are

Sparnus operates Item 2.04. You can reach us at admin@item204.com or through the contact page. All email from this service is sent from addresses at the item204.com domain.

What we collect

Only what is needed to run the service:

• Subscriber details — email address, name, organisation, plan, and delivery preferences (immediate alerts on or off, minimum severity, digest on or off, optional Slack webhook URL).
• Watchlist — the company identifiers (CIKs and tickers) you ask us to monitor.
• Delivery log — for each alert or digest: the recipient, the signal identifiers included, the time sent, the provider message identifier, and whether delivery succeeded. This is how we avoid sending the same alert twice and how we measure filed-to-alert latency.
• Billing reference — if you pay through Stripe, your Stripe customer identifier. We never see or store card numbers.
• Correspondence — email you send to an item204.com address, including your address and the message content, so we can reply.

We do not collect browsing data. This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics or tracking scripts.

Email we send

Subscribers receive three kinds of email, all from admin@item204.com or another item204.com address:

• Immediate alerts when a filing matches your severity threshold or watchlist.
• A daily digest on business days at 07:30 Eastern.
• Service notices — trial expiry, material changes to these terms, replies to your questions.

We send no marketing email and we do not add addresses to this list without a request from that address.

Unsubscribing

Every alert and digest carries an unsubscribe link in its footer. You can also reply to any alert or write to admin@item204.com with the word "unsubscribe". Unsubscribe requests are honoured within one business day and stop all alert and digest email; you may still receive a reply to a question you asked us.

How we use your data

To decide which signals to send you, to send them, to bill you if you are on a paid plan, and to answer your correspondence. Delivery logs are also used in aggregate (with no personal data) to publish the median filed-to-alert time on our website.

Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data. We share it only with service providers acting on our instructions:

• Resend (email delivery) receives recipient addresses and message content in order to deliver mail, and receives inbound mail to item204.com so it can be forwarded to us.
• Stripe (payments) receives your email and payment details directly; we receive only a customer identifier.
• Vercel (website hosting) serves this site and logs standard web-server request data for a short retention window.

We may disclose data if required by law or to protect the service from abuse.

Retention

Subscriber details and watchlists are kept while your subscription is active and for 30 days after cancellation. Delivery logs are kept for 12 months for operational monitoring. Correspondence is kept as long as needed to resolve the matter.

Your rights

You may ask at any time to see, correct, export, or delete the personal data we hold about you. Email admin@item204.com; we act on deletion requests within five business days and confirm when complete. If you are in the EU, UK, or a jurisdiction with similar rules, these rights apply to you under that law and you may also complain to your local supervisory authority.

Security

Data is stored on servers we control, transmitted over TLS, and accessible only to people who need it to run the service. Outbound email is authenticated with SPF, DKIM, and DMARC on the item204.com domain.

Children

Item 2.04 is a professional service for credit analysts and is not directed at anyone under 18.

Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top changes when we do, and material changes are announced by email to active subscribers before they take effect.
